MYRAN

Athens’ favorite Scandinavian design shop, Myran, has opened a second location in the heart of Kolonaki, inside the iconic Palaiologos Apartment Building. Named Apenanti (“the other side”), the new showroom and office presents both furniture and a distinct way of living.

Designed in 1935 by architect Ioannis Koukiadis, the building is a notable example of Streamline Moderne Art Deco, with elegant curves, symmetry, and horizontal lines. In collaboration with OOAK Architects, Myran transformed the apartment into a series of domestic-style rooms that feel both intimate and public.

Respecting the building’s original details, the design uses bold color to define scale, mood, and atmosphere while complementing the Scandinavian furniture. Apenanti creates a new Greek-Scandi living experience through a playful blend of Greek character, simplicity, and contemporary Scandinavian functionality.
